How are your cakes designed?


Client satisfaction is very important to us. You will be involved in each step of the design process. We ask for your favorite flavors and work with your suggestions to come up with the most delightful combination. We go over all the important stuff like the event themes, colors and preferred styles etc. You can also show us a photo if you have an inspiration. To make it more special, you can also provide fabric swatches, stationery, or details of the florals to be used at your event so we can coordinate the design. After gathering all this information, we come up with a draft design and a quote for you. Once you approve the design, we are ready to make sweet things happens!




Do you have a list of flavours?


We have some of our favourite flavours and combos , which you can use for inspiration. If your favourites aren’t there, tell us what they are and we’ll do our best to turn them into a bespoke cake for you! If you’re having trouble with flavour pairings or don’t even know where to start, let us know and we can figure it out together.




What are the different kinds of cakes that you do?


All our cakes are layer cakes, because we believe the cake and fillings are equally important and you need to get lots of each delicious element in every slice! Cakes can generally be broken into their shape (standard/sculpted), size (diameter/height), configuration (single/multi-tiered) and finishing style (naked/seminaked/buttercream/fondant).




How much cake do I need?


It depends on a number of factors such as how many people are attending the event? And also if the cake would be served as the only main dessert or would it be served with tea? We can help you figure it out once you have this information. If the cake is being served as the main dessert, we will provide enough cake to cater for full dessert portions for each guest. On the contrary, if the cake is being served alongside coffee in addition to seperate dessert(s), the serving size is usually around half that of dessert portions. If you are planning to keep the top tier for your anniversary, the cake will be larger as the top tier will not be included in the calculation of serving sizes.




How do I make a booking?


Once our avalability has been confirmed and you have recieved our quote, you can proceed to book a date by making a deposit of 50% of the quoted price. The balance is due one month prior to the delivery date. If you are making a booking with less than one month notice, you will be required to make full payment to confirm the order.




How early should I book?


The earlier the better. It is best to get in contact as soon as you have confirmed your date and venue as we can run out on booking dates pretty quicky especially in peak wedding seasons. As a guide, wedding cake bookings should be made at least six weeks in advance. This would allow us enough time to craft the design and source any required specialty ingredients or decorative elements. The same timelines apply for other large orders (e.g. large parties, corporate events). For smaller cakes, however, we recommend that bookings are made at least one week in advance. As a rule of thumb, it is always best to make a booking as soon as possible to avoid dissappointment. If you need a cake earlier than the timeframes mentioned above, dont't panic! Just get in touch as soon as you can and we'll try our best to accommodate your request. We understand that these things can happen but keep in mind that the flavour and design options may be limited in such a situation.




Why are some cakes more expensive than others?


Basically, the factors that dictate the pricing scheme of a cake are as follows:

  1. Cost of the ingredients: The ingredients that go into your cake such as couverture chocolate, gold and silver leaves, freeze-dried fruit powders and fresh berries etc. are a significant contributor towards the cost of a cake. This cost is incorporated into the quote.
  2. Time: The time required to create your specific design is also considered. A simple design takes less time and effort while more complicated designs require working with sugar flowers or intricate detailing or structure work. The more time it takes to design a cake, the more expensive it would be.
  3. Size: The third factor to consider when looking at the cost of a cake is the size of the cake. A cake that will serve 150 people will definitely cost more than one tht serves only 20. Similarly, a cake to serve 150 dessert portions will be more costly than serving the same number of coffee portions.




Do you charge more for wedding cakes?


The answer is "No". We don't have an extra charge for designing a cake only because its a wedding cake. Every cake is priced according to the ingredients, time, and number of serving sizes required. Our baseline prices per serve are the same for any cake whether its for a wedding, engagement, birthday, baby shower, christening, graduation, or any other occasion. Its simply that often the wedding cake is larger and more intricate than any other cake they've ever ordered in their entire life.




Can you accommodate allergies or other dietary requirements?


We believe that everyone deserves to get the best treatment like anyone else. And no one should miss out on a delicious piece of cake. We are working on a collection of recipes to cater for those with allegies to gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, nuts, and other items or who follow a vegan diet. If you have any specific dietary requirements, please feel free to get in touch and we'll try our best to accomodate your needs. Please note that while we may take the utmost of care in the preparation of your product, all the products are still prepared in the same kitchen using the same equipment. Therefore, we are unable to guarantee the absenceof the trace elements of any such ingredient. If trace elements could cause any severe reaction such as anaphylaxis etc. you might be safer getting your product from a supplier that can guarantee the absence of those ingredients. Can we hire a cake stand or platter to display our cake?


Of course! We have an extensive collection of beautiful yet sturdy cake stands and platters that can (safely!) elevate your cake to make it the centrepiece of your event. Chat to us about the appropriate size, colour, finish, and shape to best display your cake.




Can you match the picture ?


We do not copy work from a picture even that is our own work due to all products are made manually . Even if you are ordering a whole batch of identical looking items for example cupcakes ,cookies, chocolates . there is always a chance of minor variation.
